Saturn has been a great company that has made a name for itself by building reliable vehicles that are more capable to standing up to day to day life because of the materials that are used in their vehicles construction. Nevertheless, there have been some issues with the cars and, as all car manufacturers, Saturn has attempted to make every one of them right. Unfortunately, with the closing of all of the Saturn dealerships and a resulting lack in certified Saturn mechanics, there are many people wondering what must be done in order to have recalls and warranty work taken care of.
Thankfully, parent company, GM, has stepped in and has taken over the warranty work of all Saturn vehicles and will continue to specialize in their care and service until there are none left on the road. This means that anyone who needs to get work done to their vehicle can still rely on a company to do that for them without having to pay out of pocket. This has come in especially handy with the recall on Saturn Aura sedans.
The only recall to date has been because of a problem with the linkage between the gear shifter on the steering column and the transmission. This problem has been recorded and remedied in all affected vehicles (2009 model year) by the professionals at GM dealerships since Saturn has dissolved. If you buy an Aura that you believe may have this problem it is easy to take it to a GM dealer and have them inspect and repair it if necessary for no cost because of the recall status.
